I wonder what really was the driving force behind allowing organised religion back into practice in China? or more generally what in the increasingly technologically and scientifically driven world pulls at people so much that they keep returning to religion? Is it perhaps to look for a champion for the future that has control because people feel like they’ve lost control? Or is responsibility for your own future just too overwhelming for the individual? It can’t be just the older people as there would be no growth in these religious institutions which there is. There is more at play than masquerading in ancestor worship in China.

  1. That’s a difficult question to answer it almost borders on a philosophical point of view, can humans be good without religion? It seems as though most of the world’s cultures use religion and the ideals that their religion preaches as a moral compass to define what actions they take, if they are acceptable or unacceptable.
