In many of the myths that we have read and discussed in class, the women seem to be similar to the damsel in distress that is found in fairy tales and action movies. They don’t seem to be able to handle any of the messes that they end up creating with their incompetence. At least in the Native American myths it wasn’t just the women but the humans as a whole. I know that in some Native American myths the roles are reversed the women hide from the men because they smell and don’t know how to do anything. When the men come near the women scare them away and throw stones at them, until the gods intervene and get the women to teach the men how to act, clean and take care of themselves, which in my experience some men still need help in these areas. Only then could both genders live together contrasting what other culture have shown.
